A startup in the skincare, cosmetics and beauty industry is seeking a strategic yet hands-on General Manager to lead business operations. The role requires an experienced leader who can translate business strategy into execution, solve operational challenges, and build scalable processes. The founders are based in the USA, and the position is based in Pune with Pan-India responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and strengthen overall business operations, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Build, scale, or transform operational processes to support business growth.
Oversee and coordinate product development, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, and vendor management.
Manage relationships with international suppliers, business partners, and global teams.
Drive commercial performance through revenue growth, margin improvement, cost control, productivity, and return on investment (ROI).
Identify operational challenges, develop solutions, and ensure effective implementation.
Support business expansion by improving operational efficiency and building scalable systems.
Collaborate with founders and relevant stakeholders to align execution with business objectives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
15+ years of progressive professional experience, including significant leadership experience in operations.
Background in beauty, skincare, FMCG, consumer products, lifestyle, retail, or a related industry.
Demonstrated experience in building, scaling, or transforming business operations.
Strong exposure to product development, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, and vendor management.
Experience working with international suppliers, partners, or global teams.
Exposure to Korean businesses or the Korean market is an added advantage.
Strong commercial acumen, particularly in revenue, margins, costs, productivity, and ROI.
High ownership, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong focus on execution.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; MBA/PGDM from a reputed institution preferred.
