Indian Railways has launched a weekly summer train between Bengaluru and Kanpur.
Indian Railways is making summer travel more convenient by introducing a special train connecting Bengaluru and Kanpur. This will undoubtedly ease the rush of passengers during the peak season and offer a smoother journey for travellers. The latest announcement was shared by the official handle of South Central Railways on X.
Launching the special weekly summer train service between Kanpur Central and SMVT Bengaluru via Prayagraj Junction, the note read, “Enhancing connectivity between Kanpur Central & SMVT Bengaluru! Special trains (04131/04132) will run weekly from April to July 2026 for passenger convenience. Plan your journey and travel with ease!”

The summer season marks a peak travel period for families, especially with school-going students making the most of their long vacations and extended weekends. This year, the railways will operate the newly launched train to help reduce overcrowding.
Train number 04131 departs from Kanpur Central every Sunday at 4:30 PM and arrives at SMVT Bengaluru on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM. It will operate from April 5 to July 12 this year.
The train starts its journey from Fatehpur and ends at Krishnarajapuram. It covers major cities such as Prayagraj, Nagpur and Vijayawada. The route passes through several stations, including Prayagraj, Shankargarh, Dabhaura, Manikpur, Satna, Katni, Madanmahal, Itarsi, Nagpur, Ballarshah, Sirpurkaghaznagar, Bellampalli, Manchiryal, Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Renigunta, via Melapakkam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Bangarapet.
In the return direction, train number 04132 departs from SMVT Bengaluru every Wednesday at 7:10 AM from April 8 to July 15 and reaches Kanpur Central at 3:45 AM on Fridays.
