Marking Time: What Remains, Passes, and Returns – Rahul Kumar
Exhibit 320 presents Marking Time: What Remains, Passes, and Returns, a solo exhibition by scholar, editor and ceramist Rahul Kumar, featuring more than 70 recent ceramic works. Returning to the gallery for his third solo exhibition, Kumar uses clay as a medium to investigate memory, existence and the ways in which time shapes human experience.
The exhibition is organised into two movements: Atman and Brahman. Together, these sections trace a journey from individual experience towards broader reflections on existence and interconnectedness.
Through ceramic forms, Kumar examines how memories, experiences and physical forms transform over time—what disappears, what endures and what returns in altered ways. His work invites visitors to reflect on the relationship between permanence and change and the traces that time leaves behind.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to engage with contemporary ceramic art through a philosophical exploration of time, identity and existence.
