Mysuru Dasara 2026

The Mysuru Dasara 2026 is a grand, world-renowned 11-day cultural extravaganza celebrating Karnataka's rich history, royalty, and tradition from October 11th to 21st, 2026. Carrying a majestic legacy since 1610 AD, this spectacular Nada Habba (State Festival) transforms the heritage city of Mysuru into a vibrant tapestry of light, music, and celebration. The entire festival is anchored around the majestic Amba Vilas Palace, which is illuminated every single evening by close to a hundred thousand light bulbs, creating a breathtaking visual anchor for visitors.

Throughout the 11 days, the city hosts over 100 programmes across multiple venues. Key attractions include the Aahara Mela (a massive food festival at Maharaja's College Ground), the Yuva Sambhrama youth cultural shows, a breathtaking Fruit & Flower Show at Kuppanna Park, state-level sports competitions, traditional Kambala buffalo races, and nightly classical music and dance recitals on the grand Palace stage. Visitors can also experience synchronized 2,000-drone light shows over the Bannimantap arena.

The event culminates on Vijayadashami (October 21st) with the world-famous Jumboo Savari. This grand finale features a majestic elephant carrying the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari inside a 750-kilogram golden howdah, accompanied by decorated tableaux from 31 districts, folk dancers, and royal guards. The celebrations conclude with the thrilling Torchlight Parade at Bannimantap, showcasing equestrian skills, laser shows, and military band performances.
