Grand Festival Launch: The city-wide electric illumination is officially initialized on the first evening of the festival (October 11, 2026) at 6:30 PM with a ceremonial switch-on by the Honorable Minister for Energy along Sayyaji Rao Road near the K.R. Hospital Circle.
The Royal Masterpiece: The historic Amba Vilas Palace serves as the visual anchor of the nightly celebrations, with its magnificent architecture outlined by close to a hundred thousand (one lakh) glowing incandescent light bulbs.
Strict Nightly Schedule: The grand Palace illumination is switched on precisely from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM every single evening throughout the 11-day duration of the festival.
Extended Finale Viewing: To accommodate massive celebratory crowds on the high-profile closing night of Vijayadashami (October 21), the Palace's majestic lights remain switched on for an extended duration until midnight.
Sprawling Civic Displays: Beyond the palace walls, the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) transforms the heritage city into a luminous wonderland, dynamically illuminating kilometres of major boulevards, public circles, and civic structures.
