NCPA presents Nihsango Ishwar, a Bengali theatrical production that explores the final day of Lord Krishna’s life. Set after the Kurukshetra war and the death of Lord Balarama, the play portrays Krishna alone in a forest, reflecting on his life and legacy.
Rather than presenting Krishna solely as a divine figure, the play examines him as a human being confronting his past actions, relationships, political ambitions and moral choices. As he questions the meaning of his existence, he struggles with the conflict between his human desires and divine identity, as well as the inevitability of his fate.
The production offers an introspective perspective on a familiar mythological figure, inviting audiences to consider questions of identity, responsibility, morality and destiny.
