NrityaAvani – Madi Padharo Re… is a special Raas-Garba dance presentation by choreographer and dancer Avani Shah and her troupe, presented by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai.

For over four decades, Avani Shah has expressed her devotion to Goddess Durga through the vibrant traditions of Raas and Garba. Trained in Bharatanatyam and Kathak, she has developed her own distinctive style, known as Swarnam, blending the discipline of classical dance with the energy and cultural richness of Gujarati folk traditions.

The performance features 40 dancers celebrating Gujarati folk music, rhythmic group choreography and the festive spirit of Navratri. Through colourful movement and traditional influences, the production brings audiences closer to the devotional and celebratory essence of Raas-Garba.

As the founder of NrityaAvani, Avani Shah is recognised for combining tradition with creativity while preserving the cultural significance of Gujarati dance.

The performance offers audiences an opportunity to experience Gujarat’s folk heritage through a large-scale dance production in the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre. It is suitable for audiences aged six and above.
