Odisha Walks – Cuttack Silver Filigree
Odisha Tourism presents Odisha Walks – Cuttack Silver Filigree, a guided heritage experience celebrating Tarakasi, Cuttack’s distinctive silver filigree craft. Listed for 10–31 December 2026, the walk offers visitors an opportunity to discover the artistry and traditions behind one of Odisha’s best-known handicrafts.
Tarakasi involves twisting, curling and soldering extremely fine silver wires into delicate, lace-like patterns. Skilled artisans use these techniques to create jewellery, decorative objects and ceremonial pieces, preserving a craft tradition practised in Cuttack for centuries.
During the guided walk, participants can explore the craft’s history, observe intricate designs, interact with artisans and learn how traditional skills continue to be passed down through generations. The experience also highlights the cultural significance of Tarakasi and its Geographical Indication (GI) recognition.
Designed for travellers interested in local culture, traditional craftsmanship and heritage tourism, the walk provides a closer look at Cuttack’s living artisan traditions.
