Something Like Truth is a contemporary theatre production written by Shanta Gokhale and directed by Parna Pethe, presented by the Kolkata Centre for Creativity as part of AMI Arts Festival 2026.
The play unfolds through four monologues set across different times and places, including 19th-century France, early-2000s India and post-war Sri Lanka. Though separated by geography and history, the women at the centre of these stories are connected by questions of truth, freedom, justice and personal agency.
Each story examines how individual choices and convictions are shaped by larger social and political circumstances. The production combines spoken word, movement and music, allowing the four narratives to unfold independently while creating connections between them.
The production was selected among the Top 10 plays at META 2026, with Dusha, who plays Zameera, receiving a joint Best Actor in a Lead Role (Female) award.
