Tapi Project is a Surat-based musical collective presented by the Kolkata Centre for Creativity as part of AMI Arts Festival 2026.
Built around Yogi’s poetry and carried by Swati’s expressive voice, the project explores the contradictions of contemporary life through songs that reflect on identity, belonging, loneliness, changing values and the distance between people.
Their sound draws from folk, jazz, rock, funk and contemporary rhythms, creating a fluid musical language that does not fit into a single genre. The name Tapi Project comes from the River Tapi, reflecting the group's approach to music as something organic, fluid and constantly evolving.
The collective has performed more than 400 concerts across 30 countries, bringing together influences shaped by their travels, observations and individual musical backgrounds.
The performance invites audiences to experience contemporary questions through rhythm and poetry while remaining connected to the folk sounds and stories from which the music emerges.
