The Unknown Mahatmas Who Made the Mahatma is a storytelling performance that explores the lesser-known people and encounters that shaped Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’s life and journey towards becoming the Mahatma.
While history often celebrates prominent leaders and freedom fighters, this performance brings attention to the quieter, less-documented individuals whose interactions and influence contributed to Gandhi’s personal and philosophical development.
Through song, anecdotes and storytelling, performer Vikram Rajini Sridhar revisits these overlooked connections and examines the meaning of the word Mahatma. The performance also invites audiences to reflect on what the title means today and what experiences, relationships and choices contribute to shaping an extraordinary individual.
About the performer: Vikram Rajini Sridhar is a performance storyteller, TEDx speaker, theatre practitioner and narrative-based facilitator. With over two decades of experience across theatre, conservation and social work, he has spent years exploring places and stories connected to Gandhi’s life, focusing on the people whose contributions are often left out of mainstream narratives.
The event offers an engaging perspective on Gandhi’s life through history, theatre and the power of human stories.
